Fujian’s tallest building lights up Xiamen’s Lujiang Avenue

Xiamen Fortune Center on Lujiang Avenue, the tallest building in Fujian, launched a lighting ceremony on Monday evening before its opening on Thursday, reports Xiamen Daily.

The steel frame skyscraper is 192 meters tall with 43 floors above ground and 5 floors underground.

Xiamen Hengxing Group, the building’s investor, said it pursued an energy-saving, environment-friendly and low-carbon skyscraper in its design.

It passed the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Building Rating System for Core & Shell (LEED-CS) in June, 2010, US-based criteria for the design of green buildings.

An opening ceremony for the Xiamen Fortune Center will be launched on July 28, 2011.

Fuji Xerox, China Development Bank, Agricultural Bank of China and Savills will relocate their regional headquarters in the building.
