Global warming triggers plant, soil emissions, says study

Plants and soils could discharge large amounts of carbon dioxide in reaction to global warming, a new study from the American Meteorological Society and University of California, Berkeley shows. This new study could pose additional challenges to climate change risk management since it was generally held that plants and soils can store some carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere through the burning of fossil fuels. This also means that a given level of human emissions could have a more dangerous effect to the climate than previously known.
