A project to help companies raise awareness and cultivate environment-friendly habits in the workplace is making a renewed push to spread the “green” message.
The Singapore Environment Council (SEC) and real estate developer City Developments Limited (CDL) want to get more companies to be part of their drive, Project: Eco-Office.
They’ll distribute starter kits with items, such as posters and stickers, to remind employees to adopt green habits at the workplace.
The newly-designed Project: Eco-Office posters aim to get people to think about their daily routines and consider the importance of saving the world’s natural resources.
A new Project: Eco-Office Facebook page was also launched on Thursday.
The SEC said the Eco-Office programme has been around for about 10 years and expects demand to increase as more organisations realise the importance of conserving the environment.
It hopes to see at least 100 more offices receiving Eco-Office certification this year.
Currently, 104 offices in Singapore have been certified.
Government agencies appear to be showing the way.
Besides the National Environment Agency, about three out of four offices that are currently certified are government agencies, including ministries and statutory boards.
