The scheme to build Ben Thanh Central Station of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway System on the public-private partnership (PPP) mode has been passed, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board.
The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee on November 28th agreed in principle that the project to build Ben Thanh Central Station will be implemented on PPP.
Accordingly, the project managers will cooperate with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to carefully study the project and when the report on the project feasibility has been made, the City’s authorities will ask the Government to allow it to implement the project on PPP.
Ben Thanh is expected to be built into a traffic hub to link public transportation systems and an interchange for buses and urban trains in the city.
