HCM City to speed up $1.4 bln eco-township

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Architecture has been assigned to work with Can Gio District to complete the detailed zoning map for Saigon Sunbay eco-township within this month.

The 600-hectare coastal eco-township development, the largest of its kind in Vietnam, includes 400 hectares of inland fund and 200 hectares of coastal area on encroaching land in Long Hoa Commune, about 50 kilometers away from the heart of the city in the Southeast.

The US$1.4 billion project is divided into four functional parts such as HeartBay, LifeBay, EcoBay and BlueBay.

The project last week was on display at MIPIM Asia Exhibition, the most prestigious property exhibition in the Asia - Pacific, calling for investments.

Can Gio Tourism Urban Area Joint Stock Co was the main investor of the project which is expected to kick off its first phase in Q1 of 2011. It is partnered with the Singapore-based CPG Consultants, Meinhardt, the UK-based Savills and Aedas.
