HCMC’s slow road to waste management

Vietnamese officials say all solid waste and wastewater from Ho Chi Minh City’s households, factories and hospitals will be treated by 2015 despite setbacks to existing projects. Infrastructure projects, including facilities to treat hazardous waste, process solid waste and recycle construction debris, have been delayed due to lack of available land and insufficient cooperation from local communities.
