The inaugural Liveability Real Estate Champion, an award established in honour of the late Dr Chris Reardon, has been announced at a gala event in Melbourne.
Dr Reardon was integral to LJ Hooker’s Liveability program, a residential sustainability initiative combining real estate agent training in sustainability with information for consumers on how to live in a sustainable house, in order to progress market demand.

Bryce Gibson, principal at LJ Hooker Cessnock/Kurri Kurri, won the title, and was one of the first agents to complete the Liveability training back in 2013.
“Since his inception into the Liveability Real Estate Specialist ranks Bryce has lived and breathed the Liveability message not only facilitating more informed conversations with his clients, whether they are renters, owners or investors, but changing the ways his office works,” LJ Hooker head of Liveability Cecille Weldon said.
“I congratulate him on his professionalism and ongoing commitment to Liveability real estate and driving change in his community; he is a worthy recipient of this prestigious award and Dr Chris Reardon would have been thrilled to see him win it.”
Ms Weldon also praised Dr Reardon’s commitment to the program and built environment sustainability.
“He used to say to our agents at the end of every training session, ‘Just go out and sell a hell of lot of properties with Liveability features and you’ll take the whole property industry with you,’” she said.
