The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry officially opened the Indo-Power 2011 exposition at Jakarta International Expo center on Thursday, among efforts to promote the use of alternative energy sources.
The ministry’s director general for electricity, Jarman, said the exhibition could be a good place to promote the utilization of “green” energy sources such as geothermal, wind, water and solar energy.
“I hope this exhibition can serve as an opportunity for business owners in renewable energy and electricity sectors to expand their networks,” Jarman said at the opening ceremony.
He added that private investment was essential in boosting Indonesia’s efforts to provide electricity to the entire community.
