Indonesian VP to inspect Japan’s subway system

Visiting Indonesian Vice President Boediono is scheduled to inspect Tokyo’s subway system to obtain first hand information about mass transportation development in one of the world’s busiest cities.

The inspection is part of the vice president’s agenda in his four-day working visit from Sunday, November 14, 2010 in Japan.

Before inspecting the subway system, Boediono will meet with a number of Japan Development Cooperation Board officials.

The Indonesian vice president on Monday will meet with the officials of Keidanren (Organization of Economic Federation), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), then make a courtesy call on Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan.

Vice President Boediono on Tuesday will visit Kobe to inspect the disaster management centre there.

In his working visit to Japan, the vice president is accompanied by, among others, Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo, Coordinating Minister for Economy Hatta Rajasa, Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, Industry Minister MS Hidayat, and State Minister for National Development Planning Board Armida Alisjahbana.
