Malaysian agriculture seeks young minds

Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak wants to tap the youth to improve the sustainability of the country’s agriculture sector. The PM, speaking at the Malaysian International Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition, said Malaysia’s agriculture is very promising and so the government should be able to encourage the young innovative Malaysian minds to get involved in it.  He said local agriculture should be developed to increase national revenue, and also to improve sustainability practices. One example, he said, is the farming of the empurau, a freshwater fish which is nearly extinct in Sarawak.
