Maldives turns to China for climate change solutions

China has committed to help Maldives tackle the problem of climate change. The office of the President of Maldives said that the vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress has given the assurance at an earlier meeting with President Mohamed Waheed. China, they said, also assured the island nation that they will provide continuous support and assistance for Maldives’ ongoing climate-related projects, stressing China’s role as a strong player in the global fight against climate change.
