Nanyang Technological University has inked a partnership agreement with various multinational companies and top Norwegian research institutes in the field of ocean energy research.
The tie up with Rolls Royce, Vestas, DNV and Keppel Offshore & Marine will look into developing more cost effective offshore wind and marine power generation systems, saving land which can be used for growing food crops as well housing and industry, while its collaboration with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and the Norwegian Research Centre for Offshore Eind Technology will leverage on their strengths and expertise in offshore renewables research.
This is the first joint industry programme in local offshore renewable energy sector.
