Sound Global Ltd, a Chinese wastewater-treatment company, has won a contract to operate and maintain 16 sewage plants in the southwestern region of Chongqing.
The water treatment provider signed a 25-year agreement with Chongqing Yulong Asset Management (Holdings) Ltd, a state-owned asset management company controlled by the Jiulongpo district government in Chongqing, for works with a daily total capacity of 41,300 metric tonnes, Sound Global said on Monday in a statement without disclosing terms.
Sound Global, based in Beijing, has been increasing its treatment capacity. The company last week won a bid in which it will invest 450 million yuan ($73 million) in a sewage plant in Bazhong city and secured a 37.7 million-yuan project last month to build a treatment plant in Wuli, Shaanxi province.
The shares rose 3.3 per cent today to HK$8.43 in Hong Kong, bringing their gain this year to 92 per cent.
