Kulon Progo regency in Yogyakarta has a local food security program named Rumah Pangan Lestari (Sustainable Food Security Houses) in Sidoharjo to diversify food sources and reduce dependency on rice.
The Sidoharjo village head, Budi Hartono, said on Tuesday that Rumah Pangan Lestari encouraged residents to start vegetable patches and provides seedlings.
Students from Ahmad Dahlan University will assist the program under the university’s national study service.
