Tariffs on Chinese PVs endanger European jobs

Anti-dumping and anti-subsidy tariffs imposed on Chinese photovoltaic manufacturers could leave to job losses in Europe, said a new study by the Alliance for Affordable Solar Energy (AFASE). AFASE said in a span of three years the job loss could number up to 30,000. The study forecasts that in Germany alone 8,000 jobs both in and outside the solar industry could be affected. The punitive duties on Chinese PVs are seen to increase module prices in Europe and pull down demand for photovoltaic products.
