Westinghouse signs deals for China nuclear plants

Westinghouse, controlled by Japan’s Toshiba Corp, signed agreements on Tuesday to collaborate with two Chinese companies regarding the deployment of its nuclear plants in China.

Westinghouse signed a two-year extension of an agreement with China State Nuclear Power Technology Corp to promote the development of Westinghouse’s AP1000 nuclear plant in China.

The company also signed an agreement with CNNC North Fuel Company for the design, manufacture and installation of nuclear fuel fabrication equipment, which will enable China to produce fuel to complete the AP1000 nuclear plants now being built.
