Zero emissions at zero cost for China’s public transport

Chinese automobile manufacturer BYD is tempting the taxi and bus market to take on all-electric vehicles through various easy payment plans. With a offer to have both zero emissions and zero costs, the company has set up different payment plans that allow taxi and bus operators to buy BYD electric vehicles in instalments either through a financing body or their own credit. The Chinese Development Bank will also provide financial support to the scheme, enabling buyers of the BYD electric taxi or bus to get the car without the upfront payments, and with monthly costs that are lower than standard fuel prices.
