To achieve global climate goals, we can no longer ignore the people most exposed to the dire consequences of rising temperatures. As developed countries set new climate-finance targets at COP29, they should also devise more inclusive financial services and products to ensure that resources reach vulnerable communities.
Although most people care deeply about addressing the climate crisis, only a minority of respondents in recent surveys trust their governments to achieve a fair and just net-zero transition.
Inspiring women are driving sustainable solutions and empowering communities, showcasing their potential to shape a more equitable and sustainable future.
Women are emerging as formidable forces leading the way towards a more sustainable and climate-aligned world in the region. For example, more women are taking on the role of chief sustainability officers.
