BlueTech Research, O2 Environmental CEO joins USAID-Sida challenge

BlueTech Research and O2 Environmental CEO and founder, Paul O’Callaghan, has been invited to serve as a member of the Securing Water for Food Innovation Investment Advisory Committee (SWFF IIAC), specifically within the technical viability sub-committee.

The SWFF is a joint initiative between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Swedish International Cooperation Development Agency (Sida) in an effort to identify and accelerate science and technology innovations and market-driven approaches that improve water sustainability to advance food security and alleviate poverty.

“It is an honor to be invited to participate in the Innovation Investment Advisory Committee,” says O’Callaghan. “I look forward to working with the USAID and the committee in supporting the initiative’s focus to bolster innovation to reduce water scarcity within developing and emerging countries.”

The initiative will focus on three areas USAID and Sida have identified as critical to diminish water scarcity in the food value chain. These include improving water efficiency and reusing wastewater, effective water capture and storage, and decreasing the salinity of water supply that threatens food production.
