“After spending a decade in Africa and coming to Asia, I can say this is the single most hard core thing I had to do,” - Presenter Aaron ‘Bertie’ Gekoski
Premiering on August 16th, 2017, Borneo Wildlife Warriors, highlights the hard work of Sabah’s Willdlife Rescue Unit by following environmental photojournalist, Aaron ‘Bertie’ Gekoski, on his journey to become a ranger.
Now that Bertie is part of the team, the real adventure begins! Investigate threats posed to sun bears, elephants, orangutans and more on breath-taking rescues and relocations.
The Wildlife Rescue Unit are an elite group of vets and rangers on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to deal with human-animal conflict.
Through rehabilitation programmes, relentless rescues and relocations, they are tasked with saving Borneo’s wildlife—and their exhausting, often dangerous work.
“The series shows a real behind the scenes look at what goes on at our ‘rescues’. Its basically a reality show on our wildlife rescues and also portrays the many wonderful characters within the WRU whose great deeds and heroic attempts save wildlife in Sabah,” said Dr. Sen, head of the WRU.
This stunning 4K, 6-part weekly series will feature Bahasa Malayu subtitles. Produced by SZtv, a new online wildlife channel by Asia’s leading natural history filming and photography company, Scubazoo.
Episodes will be released on SZtv Facebook page, and all SZtv programs can be watched online at Scubazoo.tv.
