Cundall is celebrating being the first consultant to deliver 100 Green Star certified projects in Australia. Acting as the Green Star Accredited Professionals, Cundall’s team has been working on Green Star projects since the rating system was released in 2003.
Cundall’s experienced team has combined in-depth knowledge of the rating system with a passion for practical sustainable design to deliver Green Star ratings in many building types and in all states and territories.
With over over 1.5 million square metres certified, the projects have ranged from shopping malls in Sydney housing luxury global brands, a major new hospital – the largest project to be certified to date, a training centre for the plumbing industry, large distribution centres and many award-winning office developments.
Cundall has notched up a number of industry firsts, such as the first 6 Star Green Star – Communities project, the first project to incorporate Green Star’s life cycle assessment points, the first 6 Star Green Star – Multi-unit Residential development and the first retail development to achieve Green Star As Built rating.
The team also assisted in attaining a ‘trifecta’ of Green Star ratings for SA Water House, attaining a 6 Star Green Star Design and 6 Star Green Star As Built rating for the base building as well as a 6 Star Green Star – Office Interiors rating for SA Water’s office fit-out.
“Cundall has been a prominent supporter of Green Star as a tool to transition the property industry to a more sustainable future for over ten years. We continue to be actively involved in shaping the future and are looking forward to hitting a double hundred” said David Clark, Partner.
Green Building Council of Australia’s Romilly Madew presented Cundall with a certificate at Cundall’s 40th birthday at the Sydney Opera House on the 1st December.
“From shopping centres to visitors’ centres, from high schools to hearing hubs and from social housing to premium office buildings, Cundall’s experienced and committed team are known throughout the industry for pushing the sustainable building envelope, and deserve applause for reaching this momentous milestone,” Ms Madew says.
