SL25 recognises and celebrates the 25 best projects of steward leadership excellence by for-profit organisations across the Asia-Pacific region
Stewardship Asia Centre (SAC) and its consortium of partners officially launched the third run of Steward Leadership 25 (SL25), honouring a list of projects demonstrating resolute actions to drive profitable growth by addressing the challenges threatening humanity.
Steward leadership requires genuine desire and persistence to create a collective better future for stakeholders, society, future generations, and the environment. In business, this involves pursuing a growth strategy that aims to create win-win-win prosperity wherein employees, shareholders and society at large thrive together.
The SL25 initiative welcomes for-profit organisations, regardless of size and industry, to submit projects that drive positive impact for society and/or the environment. Applications open from 1 February to 15 May 2024. In 2023, the impact of the shortlisted 25 projects spanned 14 countries, and they were spearheaded by companies from industries from financial services and transportation to food and beverage and real estate.
“Everyone is talking about sustainability, yet we are not making enough progress. We at SAC have found champions who are quietly creating powerful impact on society and the environment through their businesses. SL25 recognises these champions of steward leadership,” shared Rajeev Peshawaria, CEO of SAC.
“After two successful runs of SL25, we anticipate a new wave of diverse projects in 2024 from across the region, each uniquely poised to tackle pressing social and environmental concerns. As we witness large companies and SMEs embrace the principles of steward leadership, we look forward to learning about the transformative impact these projects have on our communities and the region at large,” reflects Annisah Smith, Senior Research & Engagement Manager at SAC.
The 25 shortlisted projects will be unveiled at the Steward Leadership Summit 2024, SAC’s annual flagship event gathering prominent business leaders, global experts, and distinguished speakers around the ethos and practice of steward leadership.
Steward Leadership 25 (SL25) is jointly curated by SAC, the INSEAD Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society, WTW and The Straits Times. It is also supported by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Family Business Association (Australia & New Zealand), The Family Business Advisors Association Japan, The Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise (raiSE) and UN Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS).
