Hanoi, Vietnam, April 30, 2024 - The 16th Annual Global CSR & ESG Summit and Awards 2024 came to a triumphal close yesterday, April 25, at the Novotel Hanoi, Thai Ha, Vietnam, marking another milestone for the world’s longest-running thought leadership platform on sustainability and the realms of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.
Hosted by The Pinnacle Group International together with co-organiser the Sustainable Technology Centre, the conference gathered nearly 800 delegates from across Asia for two days of networking and activities, culminating in the Global CSR & ESG Summit (all day) and Awards (early evening). With thought leaders from various industries and hundreds of senior executives and CSR & ESG professionals from around the world, everyone could leave with something.
The event featured insightful discussions, engaging panels and thought-provoking keynotes, delving into pressing issues such as climate action, diversity and inclusion, ethical governance and community engagement. Attendees gained valuable perspectives and actionable insights, fostering new relationships and collaborations to drive positive change across sectors.
Summit highlights
Opening: Mr Matthias Gelber, known as the ‘Green Man’ for his commitment to sustainability as well as an iconic green batik, officially opened the Summit.
Keynote: Ms. Aparna Rajesh, a Consultant in Sustainability & Academic Interface for Tata Consultancy Services, “How Corporations Can Leverage Employee Talent, Business Models and Assets to Create the Deep Impact that Drives Transformational Change,” an inspiring keynote.
Topic: Ms. Rohini Samtani, Sustainability Solutions Manager at S&P Global Sustainable1, led a discussion on “ESG Ratings and Transparency: Advancing Sustainable Finance.”
Panel: Prof Dr Geoffrey Williams, Founder & Director, Williams Business Consultancy Sdn Bhd, leader on “Opportunity and Risk: Linking ESG to Strategy for the Creation and Preservation of Sustainable Long-Term Value,” with panel Mr Ts Mahmood Long from Sarawak Energy, Mr Andika Dwi Saputra from Evermos, Ms Vu Tra My from Home Credit Vietnam, and Mr Rahul Gupta from McKinsey & Company.
Topic: Ms Le Thuy Anh, CEO of Vinmec Healthcare Systems, spoke on “Enhancing Healthcare Accessibility and Sustainability”, featuring insights into Vinmec’s dedication to the principles of CSR & ESG.
Panel: Dr Stefan Phang, Global Director for Sustainability and Creating Shared Value at Solenis, leader on “Governance, from Good to Exceptional: Advocating for Diverse Talent through Actions, Not Just Words,” welcoming panellists Dr Ir William L Nolten from ReXil Asia, Ms Nusheen Masters from Tata Consultancy Services, Mr Florian Johannes Beranek from the Central & Eastern European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, and Mr Victor Dulait, Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (BeluxCham).
Topic: Mr. Lokender Singh and Mr. Desmond Soh, Co-founders of Nutri-Buddy Private Limited, animating “Sustainable Food Practices: Essential ESG Factors for the Food & Beverages Industry.”
Prof Dr Richard David Hames, Founder & Executive Director of the Centre for the Future, Fellow at the World Academy of Art & Science, and Advisor to the Sustainable Technology Centre, ended the event by encouraging attendees to continue their efforts towards CSR and ESG initiatives, emphasising that continuous efforts will improve the world, contribute to making it a better place.
