Veolia showcases palm oil mill effluent treatment solutions at the 10th Annual Roundtable Meeting on Sustainable Palm Oil

From 30 October to 1 November 2012, Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies (Veolia) will showcase its expertise in palm oil mill effluent (POME) treatment at the 10th Annual Roundtable Meeting on Sustainable Palm Oil (RT10 2012) . Throughout the three-day event, industry professionals will have access to the company’s waste-to-energy solutions, as Veolia representatives share first-hand how these technologies can help businesses.

Companies within the palm oil sector who are looking to move away from traditional wastewater treatment systems, such as open lagoon treatment system, can view the most relevant and cutting edge technologies in the market at Veolia’s booth 05, at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore.

At RT10 2012, Veolia will introduce its proprietary technologies that provide the palm oil industry’s leading performers with the opportunity to convert POME to energy, by producing biogas and electricity and/or steam and hot water. With their economic viability, minimal environmental impact and ability to create value, Veolia technologies hold the potential to revolutionize industry practices.

Lars HJORTH, Business Development Manager, Wastewater, SEA Engineering Center shared, “The emergence of a new, reliable and affordable solution, developed by Biothane, a global leader in anaerobic technologies and part of Veolia, enables companies to play their part in sustainability and significantly optimizes the treatment of their POME. With this, we hope to help even more palm oil businesses to treat wastewater in a sustainable and economically viable way.”
