Got climate anxiety? Ditching planet-heating lifestyle habits may offer relief

Thinking about your carbon footprint can be mind-boggling. Even if you wanted to do something about it, where do you start? With this mobile app, all the information you need is at your fingertips.

As we go about our daily lives, we contribute to the climate crisis, constantly. From our morning cup of coffee to air travel, many of our lifestyle habits generate emissions that warm the planet. Being conscious of that can be overwhelming.

But spending sleepless nights contemplating climate apocalypse may not be the most meaningful thing to do. Instead, there are tools that help guilt-ridden individuals take steps that matter, offering a tangible way to cope with their nagging eco-anxiety.

Among them is a carbon footprint calculator released by Singapore utility firm SP Group. Called My Carbon Footprint, the app lets users learn about the environmental impacts resulting from their electricity and water usage, food choices and travel habits, before guiding them towards lower consumption.

What are green lifestyle choices that Singaporeans could make to cut emissions? Watch the video above to find out, then tell us: What’s a habit you would drop first to make a difference?

Start taking climate action by measuring your carbon footprint with My Carbon Footprint on the web or the SP Utilities app.
