China to set up watchdog on renewable energy power generation projects

China will establish national general supervision office on renewable energy power generation projects to secure the healthy development of renewable energy, said a notice released by National Energy Administration (NEA) on Monday.

The quality watchdog would oversee projects in hydraulic power, wind power, solar power, biomass energy and other renewable energy power generation projects, said NEA.

The quality watchdog would be affiliated to national planning and design institute of hydraulic power and water resources and has regional offices and project teams.

The project quality watchdog could earn payment from technological services with promoters of power generation projects, according to the notice.
