Joe is an Associate in the Sustainable Finance Center. He focuses on climate finance in the UN climate negotiations, multilateral climate funds, and support for low-emissions and climate-resilient transformation.
Prior to joining WRI, Joe researched innovative approaches to climate diplomacy at Adelphi, a Berlin-based research institute. He previously worked on European Union climate and energy policy for Friends of the Earth, focusing on policies to strengthen energy efficiency and expand renewable energy. Joe also has experience working UN arms control and nuclear non-proliferation negotiations at the Quaker UN Office in New York.
Joe holds a Master’s degree in Global Environmental Policy from American University in Washington DC, where his research focused on negotiating dynamics in the UN Climate Convention. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Politics from the University of York in the UK. In his spare time, Joe enjoys road cycling.
