Build It Green - Lebanon team is committed to innovative conference topics with a mandatory focus on applicability within the Lebanese market.
This Year is no exception as we go beyond Green Buildings to unveil Eco-Districts. Resilient Cities are needed for the survival of their inhabitants. Smart Cities are needed to reduce energy costs and economic dependency of many Countries. Eco-Cities are needed for healthier and more productive citizens.
In today’s world Green Cities are becoming the high attention of many policymakers as Global Warming touched every part of the planet. During the World Economic Forum 2015, it was no surprise that many leaders addressed Climate change as one of the most pressing global issues.
“Climate change has happened because of human behavior, therefore it’s only natural it should be us, human beings, to address this issue. It may not be too late if we take decisive actions today.” Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General, United Nations
“At this point in time, it’s macro critical, it’s people critical, it’s planet critical.” Christine Lagarde, Managing Director, International Monetary Fund
“We have to wake up to the fierce urgency of the now.” Jim Yong Kim, President, The World Bank
“We are not making a choice between environment and prosperity; but we are rather looking at how we combine both.”Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda
Among the topics of the 6th Build It Green – Lebanon, we tackle many aspects of Eco-Districts, launch our 2nd Eco-Quartier University Students competition, and bring you, as usual, “spiced-up” and interactive panels as we initiate the 202030 plan for a sustainable Municipal Waste solution in Lebanon.
