Impact Chat, in conjunction with the Lee Kuan Yew School‘s Institute of Water Policy, is pleased to present its first Impact Screening of the year.
Join us Wednesday, April 17th for a lunchtime screening of the short documentary Carbon for Water, an award-winning film describing how clean water access, climate change mitigation and good business can all meet and work together for the common good of a community.
Based in Kenya, Carbon for Water is a social enterprise where the distribution and maintenance of nearly one million water filters are funded entirely through carbon credits. This creates a ripple effect participating communities, from obvious links such as improvements in health and reductions in deforestation, to less obvious impacts such as higher rates of school attendance and reduction in sexual violence.
After the screening, please join us for a lively discussion involving LKY‘s Student Environment Committee,Shujog and Nexus Carbon for Development . We will explore the possibility of implementing carbon credit program across Asia and the current social enterprise models that can employ innovative financing to increase clean water access.
