The service centre, with over 150 square metres of floor area, is located near the Jurong Island Highway, where it is accessible to other industrial companies that have based their operations in the island off Singapore’s southwest coast.
Bertil Brandin, ABB’s head of service in the country, said: “The service centre reflects an increasing sophistication in our service offerings and brings us much closer to our customers, enabling us to better understand their evolving needs, and help them reap more value from their capital investments.”

This outpost, which includes a ground floor workshop and office space, will provide engineering, consulting, modernization and maintenance services, as well as training for various ABB products and specialised solutions.
“The facility will provide fast and efficient response to customers around the clock and full access to ABB’s power and automation expertise,” noted Brandin.
Recently, ABB acquired its first service order that will be processed through the new centre. The S$1.3 million-order, for a customer in the island, consists of products and services from the company’s range of offerings.
Haider Rashid, country manager of ABB Singapore, noted that the centre shows their commitment to customers in the country, such as with this client.
“Service is a major growth area for ABB,” he said. “Over the past two years, ABB has made significant investments in service around the world, primarily through investing in our people, as well as developing our offerings through R&D.”
In Singapore, the power and automation firm has revenues of around US$800 million and employs over 1,200 employees across four locations.
