China has release a report detailing its climate change policies and achievements on the run up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference next week. The report, titled China’s Policies and Actions for Addressing Climate Change (2012) has outlined actions the Chinese government has taken to mitigate and adapt to climate change, and also sets out measures promote low-carbon communities. The report states that from 2006 to 2010, China’s energy consumption per unit of GDP decreased 19.1 per cent since 2005 or a reduction of 1.46 billion tonnes of carbon emissions.
