CleanTech Park in Jurong West is attracting strong interest ahead of its scheduled opening in less than two years.
Landlord JTC said the first phase of the park - CleanTech One - had already achieved commitments to 50 per cent of its space. Tenants can move into the two-towered building by early 2012.
CleanTech One, which is being built at a cost of about $87 million, will occupy a 1.5 hectare site. CleanTech One incorporates renewable energy and green facilities as part of its design and operations.
JTC chairman Cedric Foo said: “By locating here at CleanTech One, companies can demonstrate their commitment towards green technologies. This strong brand association cannot be replicated elsewhere in Singapore.”
Some of the key tenants include The Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute; Solid Asia, one of the world’s leading specialists in applied solar thermal energy; and Sinomem Technology, a membrane solutions provider.
One of the tenants, DHI Water and Environment, will move most of its current facilities from Pandan Loop to CleanTech One.
DHI’s regional manager for South-east Asia, Mr Tom Foster, said it had committed to 3,000 sq m, “which is about 40 per cent more than what we presently have in our existing office building.
“And that gives us the opportunity to expand our research and development here in Singapore”.
The CleanTech One structure will be the first of 25 buildings making up the entire CleanTech Park. The ecobusiness park will occupy land of about 50 football fields and will only be fully completed by 2030.
