Greenearth awarded grant for Australian geothermal project

Australia-based Greenearth Energy has won an A$7m ($6.5m) government grant for its geothermal project in Victoria.

A Geothermal Drilling Program funding agreement was reached between Greenearth and the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism.

The funds will support the company’s geothermal project located northwest of Anglesea, Victoria.

Greenearth is also negotiating with the Victoria state government to win a A$25m contract to develop large-scale, pre-commercial demonstration projects for its Geelong geothermal site.
