Heavy duty storage for renewable energy

A Queensland-based firm this week launched a new battery storage system that it said would improve the use of solar and wind energy sources. RedFlow’s M90 battery storage system consists of 24 zinc bromine batteries housed in a 6 metre shipping container. The company said it was capable of storing large amounts of electricity from sources such as solar or wind power. The M90 hopes to address one of the major challenges in the use of renewable energy as it provides a more reliable way to store electricity from intermittent sources.
