Hyundai Motor on Sunday said it released new versions of the Veracruz, Grand Starex and Accent for this year. The newly upgraded Veracruz and Grand Starex boast better fuel-efficiency and horsepower as their diesel engines have been improved to meet the European Union’s strengthened regulations for exhaust emissions. They cost up to W1.4 million more than their predecessors (US$1=W1,159).
The Veracruz, a large sports utility vehicle, comes with a new S2 engine equipped with a device to reduce gas exhaust emissions and a fume filter. It delivers up to 255 horsepower, 10 horsepower more than its predecessor, while its fuel-efficiency has increased 2.3 km per liter to 13.3 km per liter.
The Grand Starex features a new 2.5-liter engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Other features include an airbag on the front passenger seat, a ventilated driver’s seat and a heating device on the rim of the steering wheel. The diesel model is priced at W20.8 million to W26.75 million.
Meanwhile, among the frills on offer with the Accent are a heated steering wheel cover and 16-inch aluminum alloy wheel rims.
