Marina Bay Sands recruits Chitra Venkatesh from WWF Singapore to lead education at ArtScience Museum

Venkatesh moves on after six and a half years at WWF Singapore.

Chitra Venkatesh calls time on six and a half years with WWF Singapore to join Marina Bay Sands. She will lead the ArtScience Museum's educational programmes.

Singapore leisure business, Marina Bay Sands (MBS) has hired Chitra Venkatesh from the World Wide Fund for Nature’s (WWF) country office to lead programmes at the ArtScience Museum.

Venkatesh moves on after more than six and a half years with the conservation group, where she was head of education and outreach. She takes on the role of associate director at the ArtScience Museum, which is owned by integrated resort complex MBS.

She will team up with her new MBS colleagues in a month’s time after taking a break.

During her time at WWF-Singapore, Venkatesh led the Eco-Schools programme, which encourages young people to get involved in the environmental management policies of their schools. She was also involved in the Young Reporters for the Environment intitiative and Cyber Spotter programme, which mobilises volunteers to detect illegal wildlife trade listing on social media and e-commerce platforms.

Venkatesh’s background is in teaching. Before WWF, she was faculty and team leader at Stamford American International School in Singapore. She has lectured at Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s school of social sciences and humanties and SEED Institute in early childhood education.
