Poorer countries are still the worst hit by disastrous events resulting from climate change, according to data presented by environmental organization Germanwatch at the ongoing UN climate talks in Doha, Qatar. Thailand tops the 2011 ranking with flooding that killed almost 900 and caused damaged worth more than $75 billion. Myanmar and Bangladesh are also among the top 10 countries that have suffered the most between 1992 and 2011. The US also made it to 2011’s top ten owing to damages it suffered from a heat wave and Hurricane Irene.
