Taiwan’s solar sector earnings rebounded 7.5 per cent in October, month on month, on gains from wafer and cell manufacturers. The news was a pleasant surprise giving relief for the industry after a five-month slump owing to higher shipments to Japan, China and the US. Taiwan’s wafer makers were the top gainers in the sector, growing over 50 per cent in October. Revenues of the country’s largest wafer manufacturer Green Energy Technology rose 66 per cent.
