Wilsonville, Oregon based shredding machine manufacturer, SSI Shredding has been awarded a contract to build and deliver specialised industrial shredding equipment to Liyang Environmental Technology Company in western China.
The company said that the machinery will be used to process industrial waste into reusable material and alternative fuels at the Chongqing Industrial Waste Treatment Project.
Liyang will install the new shredding system into its new AFR (Alternative Fuel Recycling) production line, which is claimed to be the first industrial waste processing centre in Chongqing city.
According to SSI, industrial solid waste is growing rapidly throughout China, and the country is actively developing industrial solid waste treatment solutions designed to suit the needs of the local manufacturers and industrial firms.
The AFR production line is designed to process industrial waste into reusable material and alternative fuel for burning in pre-calciner cement kilns through a series of processes including material inspection, categorising, shredding, and separation.
The shredding systems manufacturer said that the alternative fuel produced will be sized to meet specific requirements of various cement kilns.
“Through this line we will be able to maximize the reusable values of industrial waste.” explained Mr Zeng, general manager of Liyang Environmental.
The system will consist of a two-stage process. First a primary shredding stage with a hydraulic Dual-Shear two-shaft shredder, followed by a secondary shredding stage with SSI’s double stacked EX electric Dual-Shear two-shaft shredder.
The company said that both of the low-speed, high-torque units will provide low power consumption while offering high efficiency and ease of maintenance.
SSI added that its engineers will design the entire system to meet strict size requirements required by Liyang Environmental.
