He takes on the role of head of sustainability and deputy general manager of Sustainable Urban Renewal, a division that acquires and retrofits older commercial buildings to expand their lifespan.
His work will contribute to Keppel Land’s sustainability plan, which includes a goal of halving its direct and indirect emissions by 2025, and achieving net-zero by 2030.
Tan’s move marks the end of two and half years with MBS, where he was director of sustainability development and engineering.
Prior to MBS, Tan was managing director of Miniwiz, a circular economy research and development firm.
He has also worked for Singapore infrastructure investment firm Surbana Jurong as head of sustainability and resiliency.
Over his career, he co-founded IxSA (Innovation x Sustainability Alliance), a sustainable innovation think tank and has chaired the sustainability function of industry group Singapore Institute of Architects. He was also a board member of the Singapore Green Building Council.
