State-owned TDM Berhad will start construction of its second bio-organic fertiliser factory this year, said Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said.
He said the company, through its subsidiary TDM Plantation Sdn Bhd (TDMP), would build the second factory in Kemaman.
“The factory is set to cost more than RM3.4mil.
“It will make use of the large volume of palm oil biomass such as empty fruit bunches and palm oil mill effluent and process it into high quality bio-organic fertiliser,” he told newsmen after launching TDMP’s first bio-organic fertiliser factory in Sungai Tong here yesterday.
Ahmad said the factory, which had been in operation since October last year, produced fertilisers for use in the company’s oil palm plantations.
