Greentech Malaysia appoints Malaysian Exhibition Services for IGEM 2015

Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia) has appointed Malaysian Exhibition Services Sdn Bhd (MES) as the strategic partner to co-organise the upcoming International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference (IGEM) 2015 scheduled to be held from 9-12 September.

Spearheaded by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) and co-organised by GreenTech Malaysia, IGEM is the region’s largest green technology exhibition playing a key role in accelerating the acceptance of green technology within Malaysia.

With the appointment, MES will be working closely with GreenTech Malaysia, under the leadership of KeTTHA, to create excitement about this year’s IGEM, attract prestigious exhibitors leading in green innovation, open up greater cross-industry business opportunities and lure visitors from across the globe.

Incorporated in 1980, MES, a pioneer and the largest exhibition organiser in Malaysia, was selected based on its vast experience in organising successful and well-attended, business-generating international exhibitions. Under the partnership, GreenTech Malaysia is confident that MES will be able to offer fresh ideas and new perspectives that will ensure IGEM 2015 exceeds its previous benchmarks.

Speaking about the appointment, GreenTech Malaysia’s Chief Executive Officer, Ir. Ahmad Hadri Haris said, “IGEM is one of Malaysia’s key platforms for promoting the green technology sector, which is envisaged to drive the country’s long-term socio-economic growth. Over the years, IGEM has played a key role in accelerating the acceptance of green technology within Malaysia, and this has led to the rapid growth of the sector.”

“Given IGEM’s significance to the country and its established reputation within the region, GreenTech Malaysia reckons it is important to work with a partner that will infuse new elements and surpass previous years in terms of the number of exhibitors and visitors, business leads as well as revenue generated for the industry,” he added.

The recently concluded IGEM 2014, which was held between 15 and 19 October, themed ‘Creating Green Wealth’ concluded with strong results, recording participation from 357 exhibitors presenting products and services in 616 exhibition booths, with over 49,000 visitors from over 20 countries. IGEM 2014 also generated close to RM2 billion worth of potential business leads, further solidifying IGEM’s position as the region’s largest green technology platform, invigorating the country’s green economy.

Chairman of MES, Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin said, “We are truly honoured and pleased to have been appointed as the official strategic partner for IGEM 2015, the region’s leading exhibition and conference focusing on green technology.”

“With our solid track record and experience in organising international-scale exhibitions, we are confident that we will be able to work hand-in-hand with GreenTech Malaysia to drive IGEM 2015 to new heights of success,” he added.
