Jay is Head of China Engineering Underwriting, responsible for the engineering business of both treaty and facultative for the China region. Jay joined Swiss Re as Senior Engineering Underwriter in Sep 2004.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, Jay worked in Energy and Engineering Department of the AIG Shanghai from 2000 to 2004 with responsibility of underwriting engineering business as well as oil & petrochemical operational business.
Before joining (re)insurance industry, Jay has many years of working experience in steel plant in a position of Operation Manager, where he was in charge of the production line equipment operation, maintenance and spare part supply. He also took care of engineering project management as a Project Manager.
Jay has rich underwriting experience in large engineering projects, including infrastructure (metro, road, bridge, railway, tunnel, wet works, etc), utilities (hydro power, thermal power, nuclear power, wind power, solar power, IGCC, etc), oil petrochemical, coal chemical, metallurgical, iron & steel, metal processing and other various manufacturing industries.
Jay has rich experience in risk management in large engineering projects,especially in metro, road, bridge, tunnel, power plant and oil petrochemical.
Jay also has rich experience on underwriting and risk management of oversea projects.
Jay holds a Mechanics Bachelor Degree and a Business Management Master Degree.
