Jay Mariyappan joined Sindicatum in 2008 and is a Managing Director responsible for delivery, sales and trading of environmental products in Asia, and delivery and business development in SE Asia.
Jay has 15 years of financial, technical and managerial experience in energy investments, operations and emissions trading. Previously he was a Vice President at the Brokerage house Cantor Fitzgerald in London, where he was responsible for developing, originating and brokering investments, environmental products and clean technology between project developers and sellers primarily in Asia, and financial institutions and utility companies in Europe, Japan, and USA.
Prior to that he has worked for a major power company in the utility planning department, at an engineering consultancy where he advised a number of energy companies and financial institutions in power sector planning, investments, and emissions trading, and was also seconded part-time to the UK Government for 18 months advising on the emissions markets, policy and projects.
He has a PhD in Decentralized Energy Systems from Imperial College, London, a Masters (with Distinction) in Environmental Management from the University of Nottingham, and an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) from Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University, USA) and Hong Kong Business School (HKUST, Hong Kong) which he recently completed in 2012.
