Bernadette McCabe is a Senior Research Fellow and science leader for Bioresources and Waste Utilisation at the National Centre for Engineering in Agriculture (NCEA), University of Southern Queensland. She holds a PhD in microbiology from the University of Western Sydney and a BSc(Hons) from the University of Sydney. Bernadette’s specific research interests are in anaerobic digestion processes, specifically the microbiological and biochemical degradation of industrial waste. Her current research interests focus on the feasibility of biogas production using feedlot manure and the optimisation of anaerobic digestion technologies in the treatment of high strength abattoir wastewater.
Bernadette has also been active in the scholarship of bioscience learning and teaching arena. She is also committed to promoting science in schools.
