My research interests are in Science-Policy Studies and Political Science.
My current research investigates the tensions between expert and political forms of policy-making authority.
Before coming to Australia, I worked as a policy advisor and environmental scientist in the UK public service and water industry, working on climate change risk and adaptation.
In this role I was principal author of two national climate change risk assessments and adaptation plans for national government and the Environment Agency of England & Wales; I contributed to a number of others.
I conducted the Environment Agency's first strategic adaptive capacity assessment and was responsible for disseminating climate science outputs and risk assessment guidelines to adaptation policy actors across England & Wales.
I was a lead author of UK Government's revised overall impact assessment for the implementation of the European Union Water Framework Directive, as well as project managing a series of subsequent regional regulatory impact assessments for this legislation.
