Acacia Pepler is a PhD student at the University of New South Wales Climate Change Research Centre, where she studies extreme rainfall and East Coast Lows in both observations and regional climate models. Her research is focused on better understanding the influences of the Great Dividing Range and East Australian Current on East Coast Low behaviour, as well as better understanding possible future changes. She has a Bachelor of Science from Macquarie University, majoring in physics and atmospheric science, as well as a Master of Philosophy on radar meteorology. In addition, she works part-time as a climatologist at the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.
