Head of innovation and partnerships

Eco-Business is looking for a passionate and motivated individual to join our team to lead our growing innovation-related projects and scale our partnerships internationally.  

We are looking for suitable candidates who will be based at our Singapore headquarters, although we will also consider candidates from other countries depending on suitability. 

The full-time role requires solid experience in the innovation ecosystem as well as an established track record in business development and revenue generating roles. You will work on our flagship innovation initiative The Liveability Challenge, Asia’s largest sustainability solutions platform that incubates and funds deep-tech start-ups to help them commercialise their solutions. You will also work closely with our partnerships team on scaling Eco-Business’ products and services across the region. 

Candidates with work experience in innovation-related fields with an established network of VCs, investors, founders, innovators and ecosystem partners will be favoured. You will work with a wide range of partners from public, private and multilateral organisations across the world.  

The role 

You will report to the Managing Director and Director of Partnerships and work with the wider EB team across the region. You must have an excellent work ethic, be disciplined and work to tight deadlines, be a team player, and possess a keen interest in sustainable development and how it relates to the business world. The role requires a deep understanding of sustainable development and innovation-related trends and developments. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Leading and project managing The Liveability Challenge throughout its entire annual cycle 
  • Building and securing partnerships for The Liveability Challenge with a wide range of international partners 
  • Pitching for, leading and project managing all innovation-related projects 
  • Promoting Eco-Business’s suite of products, including marketing services, branded content, events, research, consulting, and training solutions 
  • Conceptualisation and ideation of client projects  
  • Presenting to partners and leading meetings; brainstorming, reporting, writing and editing content 
  • Using and managing a CRM system for relationship management and administration 
  • Leading meetings to present ESG insights, content concepts, and works in progress 
  • Developing a strong, authoritative presence on social media channels to increase engagement 
  • Working with the editorial team on projects 
  • Presenting at or moderating industry and Eco-Business events 
  • Supporting the team in project delivery where required 
  • Some travel may be required occasionally 

 

Requirements: 

  • A keen interest in sustainable development issues. 
  • At least three years of experience in the innovation or partnerships driven role 
  • Proven track record in client business development and achieving revenue targets 
  • Strong local/regional/international market networks in ESG and sustainability  
  • Proven track record in client relationship management 
  • Ability to produce high-quality client proposals in a timely manner 
  • A good understanding of sustainable development matters in the Asia-Pacific region. 
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines 
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy, and strong written and spoken English language skills. 
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the willingness to contribute to the success of a growing and dynamic organisation. 
  • A clear understanding of the Eco-Business brand and editorial principles.
