Lead trainer, ESG Intelligence

The role

Eco-Business’s ESG Intelligence has been providing training, research and advisory services to corporations, governments and NGOs as part of our mission as Asia Pacific’s leading platform on sustainable development and ESG performance.

This role we are seeking to fill will be responsible for leading our reputed and established training arm, which delivers  ESG skills development and capacity building for our partner organisations and  professionals.

Reporting to the Managing Partner and Head of ESG Intelligence, you will lead in the delivery and facilitation of our ESG training programmes, as well as in shaping our curriculum and thought leadership on ESG and sustainability for business and policy making in Asia.

You should have experience in training and facilitation, possess strong knowledge of business and sustainability issues in Asia, and a keen interest in sustainable development and how it relates to our business and policy global audience.  

You will join our headquarters in Singapore and support our projects across the globe. You must be able to operate independently to deliver high quality work.

  • ESG and sustainability foundation for business leaders
  • ESG/Sustainability frameworks and guidelines (GRI, ISSB, SASB, TCFD implementation)
  • Net Zero and the Energy Transition
  • Fundamentals of sustainable finance and responsible investing
  • The role of carbon markets
  • Board governance in light of climate and ESG reporting
  • Safeguarding against greenwashing risks
  • ESG trends in Asia

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation and delivery of training programmes as part of Eco-Business’s ESG Intelligence mandate
  • Conceptualise new curriculum that keeps abreast with key ESG developments, incorporating relevant Asian case studies and examples
  • Lead the refinement and updating of our training material to ensure our products are current, well-designed and fit for purpose
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the organisations and individuals who rely on our training as the valuable opportunities to understand, adopt and advocate for sustainable practices within their organisations and beyond.
  • Coach junior team members and external consultants where required
  • Support other members of ESG Intelligence, EB Studio and Editorial teams in identifying key trends, thought leadership, and industry-related content
  • Support Partnerships where required in shaping proposals, and other business development matters

 

Required experience (to be discussed in detail at interview):

  • Proven track record in consulting lecturing, and/or training, with at least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in areas of sustainability, risk, legal, ethics and compliance or finance/investment
  • Highly articulate, with a good ability to express business concepts while keeping professional audiences engaged
  • A university degree in Humanities, Science, Economics, Business, Finance, Communication Studies, or any other relevant field would be ideal.
  • Excellent English writing and speaking abilities, additional languages are welcomed.
  • A firm understanding of the issues interwoven within environment, society and business in Asia
  • Experience in developing training material using MS PowerPoint and/or other presentation tools.
  • Highly resourceful in building up knowledge and key insights
  • Structured in your thought process and articulation of concepts
  • Meticulous, with a keen eye on detail and timelines
  • Skilled in project management with an ability to deliver high quality work
  • A strong team player who is able to work well within a team, as well as independently

 

The following would be very useful:

  • Experience in gamification and other learner engagement techniques
  • Trained in research and analysis
  • Experience in business development, and the ability to network and build contacts
  • Asian languages other than English
  • Experience in events (workshops, roundtables, conferences etc.)

 

We are open to candidates seeking full-time, part-time or flexible work. This role is based in Singapore, and candidates should ideally be based in Singapore with a residence permit. All shortlisted applicants will be required to do a writing and presentation test.
