Abu Dhabi National Energy invests in Indian renewable energy

Abu Dhabi National Energy, known as Taqa, said Sunday, it acquired an interest in Himachal Sorang Power Limited, the developer of a 100 megawatt (MW) hydroelectric plant in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

Taqa, whose shares are listed at the Abu Dhabi exchange ADX, said construction of the Sorang hydroelectric project was 85 per cent complete. The plant is expected to begin operations in 2013.
